Great read and a really cool way to twist fantasy and sci-fi together.

I had read books one through three before book 4 had come out and had forgotten all about it and then going through my books cuz I keep buying books when they're on sale. Realized I had a bunch more books in the series now so I cracked open for this morning and just finished it tonight and what a good read it was.. genetic modification, magic science fiction. All things I love to read about woven really well into a great story. This was a fun book and then some. Can't wait to crack the next one. Open and read it!

I’d been eagerly awaiting ‘Star Forged’ since Justin first teased us with it at the end of Biotech Wars (related reading and extremely helpful background, along with being a good series in its own right). I was not disappointed. ‘Star Forged’ kicks off the Ascension Gate series in a manner that gives readers enough detail to get a clear mental picture of the settings and action, without bogging down the storyline. If you like your characters believable, your action intense and adrenaline-inducing, your space dragons unexpected, and your sci-fi blended with reality in a way that makes you go “what if...?” then this is the story you’re looking for.

Congratulations to Justin Sloan for this intriguing series. It’s extremely hard to find such an interesting and exciting author who not only writes intelligently but also provides top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to all books in the series.

A Great continuation with Quinn’s daughter Samantha, becoming a real kick ass fighter. Shadow core is a bunch of quirky characters, thrown together to make one kick ass fighting corps. It really works. Awesome!

What doesn't this story have? Boredom, that's what!! Fast paced and action packed.

An excellent story with lots of action. There are allies and enemies at every turn. One second they're your enemy only to become your ally. And even your enemies aren't truly your enemies, at lest not most of them. And when your number one target turns out to be someone from your past you don't remember who haunts your dreams, well that's gotta mess with your head. So get ready for enhanced human solders with high tech gear. But their un-enhanced enemies have a few tricks of alien origin up their sleeve. And it all takes place on a space station.

Has it all!

Book 1 is a great start to a series. Mystery, deception, betrayal, action, and humor. This book has it all and also has the benefit of being well written. The world building, can you call it that when it's a space station?? anyway yes the world building is incredible. The characters interesting. The plot twists unexpected. What more can you want out of a book? Oh, yeah, throw in a happy reunion a year in the making. I am looking forward to reading book 2.

Couldn't stop reading!

This is absolutely a 5 star rating! I am not much about war type books. I do love fantasy though. That being said...this book literally kept me riveted! Even the parts where they were fighting and at war had me biting my nails! This is a wonderfully written tale of a young boys journey into manhood. He is forceably removed from everything he knows and everyone he loves. It is a tale of first love and being torn between loyalty to your past and loyalty to your present... You will be rooting for Narcel and all that he stands for. This book is exceptionally written and two thumbs up to the author for bringing Narcel to life for the reader. For making it feel like you are there, experiencing everything happening... I have completed the series and can honestly and happily say this is my all-time favorite book!! I LOVE this series and highly recommend it!

A book you will never forget.

I have to admit that I am not a war type military reader. I think some of it is due to being part of the military for what seems forever. I am though an avid fantasy reader, especially when I know there is a trilogy coming on! My sister actually recommended this book to me telling me to keep an open mind. For once I listened to her (and I am so glad I did). Once I started it I just could not stop reading. The storyline pulls you in from page one and just will not let you go. You finding yourself cheering Narcel and wishing you could send his utterly worthless family members to another realm. This is one of those books you want to quickly go through to see what is going to happen next, yet you want to slow down as you never want it to end. Thank you Justin Sloan for having such a vivid imagination and also for becoming a writer.

Another great Justin Sloan book! This was fast paced, full of twists and I didn't want to put it down! I absolutely love reading this author - he is inventive, pays attention to detail and both his characters and story world are well developed and complex. I definitely recommend this to anyone!

Great Foundation to a new series for me when it comes to werewolves!

This book was a great foundation to a new series for me. I actually found myself reading slower than I normally would so that I would not miss any details through out the fast paced action of the book. Usually I can figure out where a book is headed but I have to admit the authors story had a few surprises in store for me that I didn't anticipate or expect. If you like werewolves and possibly other "supernaturals" I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next one. Well worth the time and money.
